Study for a BA (Hons) International Business degree
at a top-ranked university in the heart of London.
This is a full-time programme that is delivered over the course of 2 years and 8 months. There are various start dates available (January, May, or September) to allow students some flexibility with their studies.
Studying towards a BA (Hons) in International Business sets students up with the necessary skills to work in a range of professions. The course involves working closely with academic theory and practical case studies, allowing students to grasp how the theory can be applied in real business scenarios.
Within this programme, students will cover modules such as business studies, finance, human resource management, marketing, and economics. This allows students to learn about many different business areas and enhances their employability. BA International Business takes a very hands-on approach to learning by incorporating workshops, guest lectures and field trips into the programme.
The programme runs over four levels, including teaching activities coupled with independent learning. The course explores how students can put what they have learned over the four years into practice within a business, and how they could implement change in an organisation through the knowledge they have gained.
The first level introduces students to the basic concepts of business, and the key operational elements of running a company, such as finance, marketing, human resources, general business and economics.
In level two, the basic concepts are taken to a more operational level and students start to understand the application of each within a business environment.
In level three, students will look at the concepts from a more strategic perspective, aligning what has been learned in previous years to specific business scenarios.
The final level focuses on the dissertation, with students looking at their own personal development throughout duration of the programme.
Assessment is carried out through a combination of written exams, presentations, case studies, portfolio building and assignments over each academic level of the degree programme.
The overall assessment strategy ensures that a coherent balance of assessment is in place and that assessment supports employability and other complex learning intentions.
Students will frequently be given tasks to complete outside formal contact hours. These tasks are not necessarily assessable but will help you develop your understanding and knowledge from the feedback that you receive.
In addition to formal learning students will undertake significant levels of self-learning through the various mediums such as VLE, discussion boards, the Internet, databases, journals and reference books.
It is implicit in the course that by the end of their studies, students will have acquired a high level of competence in the learning technologies and the application of relevant software. The majority of modules require the use of computers for coursework submissions.
