The BA (Hons) Business & HRM course develops your understanding of business alongside specialist knowledge in human resource management and people management.
You will explore areas such as people practice, organisational behaviour, culture, business acumen, analytics, digital working, change, employee wellbeing, talent management, performance, reward, employment relationships, equality, diversity and inclusion.
The course is aligned with professional expectations in HR and people management and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). You will learn through a mix of lectures, workshops, case studies, role plays, assessment centres, presentations and written assignments.
This course is for students who want to understand how people, organisations and business strategy connect. It is suitable if you are interested in human resources, people management, organisational development, employee wellbeing, workplace culture, equality and diversity or strategic change.
Graduates can use this degree as a route into HR, recruitment, learning and development, organisational development, employee relations, people analytics, management and wider business roles. You may also progress to postgraduate study or advanced HR qualifications.

This running-out specification covers Level 8 onwards. Students may also choose other optional modules from across the institution, including language options, where available.
The course is delivered on campus. Full-time students can expect around three hours of contact time per module each week, with three modules typically taken each term. Learning and assessment may include written assignments, presentations, assessment centres, in-tray exercises, role play and applied tasks.
You will develop academic and employability-focused skills including communication, critical thinking, ethical practice, digital working, analytics, inclusive working, professional influence and reflective practice.
