The BSc (Hons) Applied Bioscience and Zoology course combines broad bioscience study with a specialist focus on zoology. You will explore life from molecules and cells through to animals, populations, communities and ecosystems.
You will study core areas such as foundations of life, diversity of life, genetics, animal behaviour, vertebrate physiology and microbiology before progressing to specialist areas including entomology, parasitology, wildlife biology, conservation, aquatic ecology, pest management, environmental adaptation and population ecology.
The course develops practical problem-solving skills and knowledge of animal biology, with work-related learning helping you connect scientific study to real-world careers.
This course is for students interested in animals, zoology, conservation, biological sciences, ecology, field biology, wildlife and the applied study of life sciences.
Graduates can progress into animal research, conservation, science teaching, educational leisure centres, pest control, ecological and environmental roles, postgraduate study or wider graduate careers that value scientific and analytical skills.
Study animal behaviour, wildlife biology, conservation, ecology and animal diversity.
Build a strong scientific base across biology, microbiology, genetics and practical skills.
