Study for a MSc Information Technology degree

This one-year, full-time programme is intended to give students who do not already have a background in IT or computing the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Information Technology. Students will also learn about contemporary developments within the tech industry.
The course has start dates commencing in January, May and September to allow for flexibility with your studies.

The course is a combination of theory and practice, with striving for better organisational efficiency being a key component. Our MSc Information Technology course employs face to face large and small group delivery and activities supported by the use of Moodle. Small group tutorials are favoured as they are key to the development of behavioural and effective competencies. These are the competencies needed by employers, to develop reflective IT practitioners engaging in purposeful activity for the benefit of the business or organisation.
Teaching is through a mixture of lectures, tutorials and hands-on laboratory sessions.

The first, and perhaps most attractive quality of the MSc in IT, is that it can significantly enhance your career prospects. Previous graduates of this course have gone on to flourish in their careers for big technology companies like IBM, Dell, Amazon, and Adobe Systems. Popular career routes post-graduation includes IT consultancy and development.
This course does not require you to have a background in computing beforehand. Therefore, students without a background in technology can pivot their careers in that direction. It gives those without an academic background in IT the chance to develop a strong academic standing in this area. Students can then go on to specialise by continuing with further study.
An attractive feature about this course is that it does not require an academic background in computing or IT. Therefore, the MSc in IT is suited to students with an academic background in Business, Science, Engineering, Social Science, and humanities.
However, it should be noted that prospective students should have achieved at least a 2:2 Honours degree prior to application. Alternatively, if you do not have a degree qualification, you should have gained substantial work experience that is directly relevant to this course.
For entry to this course, applicants whose native language is not English must be able to demonstrate sufficient English Language capabilities.
The most commonly accepted English Language qualification is the IELTS qualification (gained in the last 2 years). Applicants should have achieved a score of 6.0 and sub-test results should not be below 5.5.
