The BEng (Hons) Engineering Management course has been developed in response to demand for engineers who can combine technical understanding with management, project and business skills.

You will study engineering management, project management, design, prototyping, risk assessment, advanced project management and industrial or construction management topics. The course brings together engineering and technology, industry practice, engineering management, project management and business management.

The course is designed for advanced entry students and supports the development of transferable skills, problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork and professional judgement.

This course is for students who already hold a relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification and want to develop management capability for engineering settings.

Graduates can progress into engineering management, project management, operations, design, manufacturing, construction management, technical leadership or further study such as MSc-level engineering or technology management courses.

Teaching may include lectures, tutorials, laboratories, seminars, group work, independent learning, demonstrations, project work and problem-based learning.

The course develops engineering management, project management, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and professional decision-making skills. Students may progress to relevant postgraduate study at UWS or elsewhere.

What qualifications do you need?

Applicants should normally hold a degree in Engineering Management, Aircraft Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Engineering Systems, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline.

Applicants may also be considered with other academic, vocational or professional qualifications deemed equivalent. International applicants with equivalent qualifications are welcomed.

Applicants whose first language is not English must meet UWS English language requirements.
